Macca's Trax #3

Macca's Trax #3

G’day,

I thought I’d give you an update, not a lot of “Trax” to report as such because regardless of what they tell us on the news, I seem to be pretty much locked down still. I thought I found an opening to go and visit my daughter Jess in NSW a few days ago but that fell over too. I discovered that the New South Wales border was open from Victoria without having to quarantine, woo hoo! I have to be back in Vic on the 4th of November for work so this gave me the opportunity to rip up there, see Jess, grab a few Jess hugs which are, in my opinion the best hugs in Australia then back to Vic in time for work. You see, from my research (which I’ve had plenty of time to do), as of the first of November, I can travel back into Vic from NSW without quarantine, happy days! I loaded the Silverado up and hit the road to freedom (well, the new freedom, you know the stuff we’re celebrating at the moment that doesn’t look quite like freedom used to), I’m off to New South Wales.

Now I’m pretty sure when they loaded the first convicts onto the boats in the motherland and they set off to New South Wales they weren’t as excited as I was but it was short-lived excitement. A couple of hours up the road towards to border I get a call from Jess, apparently, the evening before the NSW Government decided that if you came in from Victoria you had to do a 14 day home quarantine, sigh, turn around. Normally the thought of spending 14 days with Jess wouldn’t have worried me but after nearly 3 months in lockdown without work, the thought of being stuck over there and missing work when it came up touched my responsible side and I made a grown-up decision. Anyway, that’s the most exciting thing that’s happened in my world in the last couple of weeks and I’ll get back to trying to plan my next escape bid from my camp on Phillip Island.

Keep on smiling, I’ll give you another update shortly, I think there are about 6 of you reading this blog now so I’m highly motivated by it, thank you all. Have fun!

Get some mud on your tyres,

Macca
